Deputy Works Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Maslan announced the scale of the undertaking during a handover ceremony in Terengganu, underscoring the substantial investment being channelled into Malaysia's schooling infrastructure as student enrolment pressures mount across the country.

Of the 524 projects, 517 have received formal approval through Letters of Acceptance, with three already completed—a pace that reflects the government's emphasis on delivering educational facilities ahead of critical demographic deadlines. The development strategy encompasses 459 schools nationwide and will create 1,780 new classrooms when fully operational. These additions comprise 1,255 standard learning spaces alongside 525 classrooms designated specifically for the Special Education Integration Programme, ensuring that facilities cater to both mainstream and specialised educational needs.

Perak contributes 22 projects, with 18 having secured formal approval, signalling slightly slower progress in that state. Pahang and Melaka represent substantial commitments with 50 and 69 projects respectively, both now fully approved. The remaining states and federal territories—Kelantan, Perlis, Labuan, Kuala Lumpur, and Negeri Sembilan—have collectively received approval for their allocated projects, though in more modest numbers ranging from two to ten, reflecting their smaller student populations or existing infrastructure adequacy.
