Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has urged Johor residents to select leaders who uphold integrity, wisdom, and humility when wielding authority, stressing the importance of protecting the welfare of ordinary citizens and grassroots communities.

Addressing supporters at a Pakatan Harapan rally in Muar on June 15, Anwar cautioned voters against politicians who weaponize racial sentiments to win elections but neglect their obligations once in office. He emphasized that citizens must stay informed and engaged, rejecting rhetoric rooted in hatred and division. Voters should instead consider the long-term implications of their choices for the nation's future, schools, hospitals, and generations to come.

Anwar underscored that elected officials must shed any sense of superiority following electoral victory and concentrate instead on tackling the pressing concerns of vulnerable populations. He stressed that Pakatan Harapan's success in the Johor State Election is necessary to harmonize the state government's direction with the Federal Government's development strategy. Such coordination, he explained, enables efficient resource allocation, aid distribution, and ensures grassroots communities benefit fully from major economic initiatives.

Highlighting federal achievements, Anwar referenced the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone and expansion of the Port of Tanjung Pelepas as projects negotiated and executed by his administration. While acknowledging state government contributions, he called for state representatives and executive committee members to prioritize serving ordinary citizens rather than focusing solely on infrastructure projects.

Anwar also appealed to Johor voters residing elsewhere to return home and cast their ballots on July 11, stressing that every vote carries weight in driving policy transformation. He reiterated that widespread participation ensures economic growth benefits are distributed equitably across society.
