With the 16th Johor State Election set for polling on July 11, 2026, every eligible voter should confirm their registration details well before heading to the polls. The Election Commission of Malaysia (Suruhanjaya Pilihan Raya, or SPR) provides a free online tool called MySPR Semak that lets you do exactly that in under a minute.

To check your status online, visit the official portal at mysprsemak.spr.gov.my. Enter your MyKad (identity card) number without dashes, then click the "Semak" (Check) button. The system instantly displays your voter registration status, your state (DUN) and parliamentary constituency, your assigned polling centre (pusat mengundi), and your voting stream or channel (saluran). There is also a "MySPR Semak" mobile app available on both Google Play and the Apple App Store.

The only thing you need is your IC number — no login, password, or registration is required. Beyond checking your own details, the same tool lets you see the candidates contesting in your constituency and review past election results.

An important point for younger Malaysians: since Automatic Voter Registration took effect in December 2021 alongside the lowering of the voting age to 18 (the Undi18 reform), eligible citizens are now registered automatically. That means checking your status today is mainly about confirming where you vote — your correct polling centre and constituency — rather than whether you managed to register at all.

Voters who notice an error, or who have moved, should contact the SPR through its hotline or the enquiry system on spr.gov.my. Confirming your details now avoids confusion and queues on polling day. With more than 2.7 million registered voters in Johor for this election, a quick check ensures your vote is cast smoothly in the right place on July 11.
